truestar inc. point irregular
Summary
This dataset is processed by truestar, based on medical facility data from the MLIT National Spatial Data Infrastructure.
Sample Data
Features/Usages
The medical institution data is information on “hospitals,” “(general) clinics,” and “dental clinics” based on the Medical Care Act, as maintained by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. It includes dormant facilities and facilities within companies, but does not include medical institutions that only make rounds. This dataset contains location information and attribute information such as medical department and number of hospital beds for approximately 180,000 medical facilities nationwide.
Although insufficient address information is scattered in the location column of the original data, truestar assigns the prefecture and municipality information on its own.
By spatial joining and analyzing this dataset with other datasets deployed on the Snowflake Data Marketplace, it is easy to identify the nearest medical facilities and calculate distances.
The following YouTube video introduces an example of visualizing the data using Tableau.

Special Notes
Some of the facilities and locations in the medical institution data contain “? in the data without correcting the garbled characters. The problem has been reported to National Land Information, the data provider, as a raw data problem, and it is difficult to solve the problem unless the raw data is corrected.
