Due to the extremely high cost burden of collecting and processing such data, we have decided to change the method of operation on the PODB as follows after the February 2024 update.
Before the change: All data, including past data, have been released since the start of collection (March 2023)
After the change: Release one record per corporate ID number using the data collected from 4 months ago to 2 months ago (total of 3 months)
Example: In April 2024, data from December 2023 to February 2024 is released.
The data will be updated as before in January and February 2024, no update in March 2024, and every 3 months starting in April 2024.
We are considering offering the data in the conventional format as a fee-based service.
We will make an announcement when it becomes available.

Summary
This is a dataset of the number of employees (insured persons) of Japanese corporations that has been collected and processed by TSUIDE Co., Ltd. and Hojin Bangou Kabushiki Kaisha based on data from the Japan Pension Service. Truestar has partially processed this data for the Prepper Open Data Bank.

Features/Usages
The corporate number is a 13-digit number assigned to each corporation and notified to its registered location. Unlike the personal number (My Number), it is generally disclosed and anyone can use it freely. The corporate number enables easy confirmation of the name and location of corporations and efficient aggregation and name matching of transaction information.
This dataset provides information on the number of employees for each corporation. Although the column for the number of employees (EMPLOYEE_NUMBER) is also available in the basic information on Japanese corporations (CORP_BASIC), the number of employees in gBizINFO is based on registration information from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare’s Shokubarabo, and only 1.8% (excluding closed corporations) of the corporations listed in PODB as of March 18, 2023 have values. On the other hand, this dataset, which is based on data from the Japan Pension Service, has values for the number of employees for 50.9% of the corporations.
