Features/Usages
The “medical care area” is established in the medical plan designated by each prefecture for the purpose of ensuring appropriate allocation of medical resources in order to provide comprehensive medical care in response to the medical needs of the region.
The “tertiary medical area” refers to medical zones that provide specialized medical care such as psychiatric wards, infectious disease wards, tuberculosis wards, or advanced medical care. As a general rule, each prefecture is considered a unit, and only Hokkaido is divided into six areas.
This dataset provides tertiary medical area polygons and their attribute information.
