truestar inc. population statistics every year
Summary
This dataset includes the data of estimated population by population classification, sex and age groups, which is edited by truestar based on the “Population Estimates” provided by Statistics Bureau, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.
Sample Data
Features/Usages
The Population Estimation data was created by Japan Statistics Bureau to determine the status of the population in the years between periods of census data gathering. Based on the census population data and subsequent population movement data obtained from other population-related documents such as births and deaths, immigration and emigration; population as of the first day of each month and population grouped by age and prefecture as of October 1st each year can be estimated.
PODB provides this population data grouped by prefecture from year 2016, ensuring it is ready for analysis. The prefectural codes are also assigned to records in this dataset to enable easy combination with other data provided by PODB.
Note that this data is rounded to the nearest thousand; therefore, inconsistencies might exist between the published aggregate values, for example national and gender totals, and the aggregate values obtained from calculating sum of all groups, for example total of 47 prefectures or total of males and females. For this reason, we published the dataset with aggregate data included.
