truestar inc. Population Statistics 5 Years
This dataset is based on the 2015 national census data published on the government statistics e-Stat, and was processed and integrated by truestar. It includes data on the population aged 15 and over by prefecture, industry category, and gender.
This is a population statistics dataset categorized by industry for each prefecture in Japan. It contains data for 20 categories based on the “Japan Standard Industrial Classification” set by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, such as “Agriculture and Forestry” and “Finance and Insurance”.
It can be easily linked to other datasets such as “Prefectural Basic Data [PR_FD20]” using the prefecture code.

■ About PREF_03_CENSUS2020 and PREF_03_CENSUS2020_2
In the 2020 national census, “Population aged 15 and over [people]” and “Percentage by industry [％]” were published in separate tables, and a new column “Age (5-year age group)” was added only to “Population aged 15 and over [people]”.
Truestar aligned the table structure with 2015 and prepared two tables, one without the “Age (5-year age group)” column (PREF_03_CENSUS2020) and another with the “Age (5-year age group)” column (PREF_03_CENSUS2020_2).
Since the original data does not include “Percentage by industry [％]” in the table with the “Age (5-year age group)” column (PREF_03_CENSUS2020_2), truestar processed and provided this value.
