This is a data set of financial information for Japanese corporations processed by truestar based on gBizINFO, which is publicly available by METI – Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

Features/Usages

Corporate number is the number (consisting of 13 digits) which is designated for each legal entity and used for cases such as notifications to the registry office. Unlike national identity number (my number), in principle, corporate number is publicly available and can be used freely by anyone. The corporate number makes it easier to verify the name and location of companies and other legal entities, or to consolidate transaction information and collate names more efficiently.

This dataset provides information such as sales amount, operating revenue amount and capital stock of legal entities.

Special Notes

■ About “基本情報” and “法人活動情報入力値”

There are two columns for the legal entity name and headquarters location: “基本情報” and “法人活動情報入力値”.

The latter is the value as it was when each legal entity registered, and the former is the value as modified by gBizINFO. Please check the data values and use them for your purposes.

■ About “PODB_ UPDATE_DATE” and “PODB_UPDATE_DETAIL”

The original gBizINFO data (CSV download format, UTF-8 version) does not contain the date and time of the data update, so The truestar matches all columns to detect differences, and gives the detection date as “PODB_ UPDATE_DATE” and the detection content as “PODB_UPDATE_DETAIL”, in three categories:

① “PODB_UPDATE_DETAIL” = “PODB収集開始時点からデータあり”

“PODB_ UPDATE_DATE” is 2022-06-06. It is not known when the data was updated because it existed before the PODB handled it.

② “PODB_UPDATE_DETAIL” = “法人名・本社所在地更新のみ”

 the “PODB_UPDATE_DATE” is later than 2022-06-07 and data change was detected, but  only “NAME” , “LOCATION” , “NAME_RAWDATA” or “LOCATION_RAWDATA” columns have been modified.

In this case, the new record was not added, but the attribute value of the entity was only changed.

③ “PODB_UPDATE_DETAIL” = “○○情報更新あり”

 “PODB_UPDATE_DATE” is later than 2022-06-07, a change in the data was detected and the new data was contained in columns other than the company name and headquarters location.
